"Take your business to the premier league - play to win," says EEDA's Ellis
25 January 2008
Businesses in the East of England should take their lead from premier league football clubs taking the opportunity to 'transfer in' new ways of thinking and doing by coming along to 'Playing to Win', EEDA's sixth annual Ideas Talk.
Held exclusively for leaders of the East of England's most ambitious small and medium-sized enterprises, Playing to Win will give businesses the tools and inspiration to grow and develop.
Thousands of business leaders from around the East of England have already been inspired through these events, which have featured the likes of Sir John Harvey-Jones and Edward de Bono.
Karren Brady, managing director of Birmingham City Football Club, will provide the keynote speech this year. She will be sharing her invaluable experience of turning the fortunes of Birmingham City Football Club around from a club in administration to a thriving business, and how she launched the club on the stock market, making her the youngest managing director of a plc in the UK.
Karren said: "'I am really proud to be a part of a series of events which has featured such an inspirational speaker line-up. Events like these offer a fantastic opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to learn from the experience of the country's top business leaders and network with likeminded, ambitious business people."
Richard Ellis, chair of EEDA, said: "This exciting event will help to inspire change in business by giving the leaders of our region's companies the opportunity to meet their peers, share ideas and interact with some of the East of England's most ambitious business people."
The ideas talk will take place on 4 March 2008 from 6.30pm until 8.30pm at Tattersalls in Newmarket. For more information or to register for the event please visit the Playing to Win event page or contact the Playing to Win helpline on 01223 234193.
