The 2020 Vision for Food and Farming in the East of England

The 2020 Vision for Food and Farming in the East of England sets out the ambitions and growth targets for the region's food and farming sector. It brings challenges for production growth, maintaining a sustainable environment and raising public awareness.

EEDA helped to lead a region-wide consultation process on the Vision, and as a result, business, public and private sector organisations are now aligned to deliver what is a challenging plan.

The Vision has been developed as a response to the region's Sustainable Food and Farming Action Plan, which has been recently refreshed under the leadership of the regional Food and Farming Champion, Marie Francis.

This page will also be building a reference library of information on the work underway to take forward the 2020 Vision.  Funding from EEDA and the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) has been used by the National Farmers' Union to carry out a study into the transport of Sugar Beet in the region. See the final report below.
