Consultation on the effectiveness of innovation support in Europe
Regional businesses and business intermediaries are invited to contribute to an EU consultation on innovation support with a view to improving the effectiveness of public innovation support mechanisms in the EU.
Enterprise Europe Network is your local gateway to information on doing business, finding partners and increasing your competitiveness in Europe.
Funded by DG Enterprise of the European Union, our role is to raise awareness of local businesses on European initiatives which affect their daily activities.
DG Enterprise has recently launched a consultation on the effectiveness of innovation support in Europe and we would like to invite you to send your feedback to the European Commission. The consultation is anonymous and runs until 12.00, 4 May 2009.
As part of the Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs, most Member States have undertaken in recent years great efforts to further improve their innovation support mechanisms by investing in infrastructure and implementing new or better instruments. Further major improvements are expected in the coming years, including through the Structural Funds which are planned to be increasingly used for innovation capacity building.
This public consultation could shed some more light on what support would create most impact for businesses. This will help the Commission to better advise Member States on how to focus their innovation support measures in line with the expectations of stakeholders and ensuring better value for money.
