Sustainability
EEDA is committed to protecting and enhancing the environment of the East of England, and to improve the quality of life for people in the region both now and in the future.

By minimising the impacts of our activities, we will contribute to the improvement of the global environment through local action and will deliver sustainable development by recognising the links between the environment, people and our economy. Our Environmental Policy Statement is located below.
We have set objectives and targets to reduce our carbon footprint; seeking opportunities to minimise our resource use through responsible procurement, energy efficiency across all our office activities and transport management and mileage reductions through our green travel plan.
We are working towards a zero waste policy; monitoring our output to reduce, reuse or recycle as much as possible. By working with local charities we try to reuse as much electrical equipment and furniture as we can. We then looked to identify as many recycling streams as possible and currently recycle; paper, cardboard, glass, steel, aluminium, plastic bottles, batteries, CDs/DVDs, waste electrical and electronic equipment, kitchen organic waste and we have compost bins for the green waste from the grounds surrounding our offices.
We have established an Environmental Management System (EMS) to help us deliver our objectives and targets, which
was certified to ISO 14001 standards and verified to the Eco
Management and Audit System (EMAS) by an accredited body.
Details of our environmental performance can be found in our
Annual Environmental Statement below.
